I love telling stories with my brush and pen
My name is Jana Forsyth, I am an award winning, professional full time artist / wedding illustrator based in Exeter, Devon. My mission is to make your big day even more fun and memorable. I love capturing stories and portraits that take you right back to your very special day. My approach is very personal and I always make sure my services fit seamlessly into your wedding. I am especially up for anything fun, unusual and non-traditional (but traditional is fine too!).
I have been drawing and painting for most of my life, it has always been my great passion and I never stopped working to get better and improve on what I have learned already. I am fascinated by human faces, not only getting a good likeness but capturing emotions as well. I use pen and watercolour for my illustrations and portraits on the day, but can also do an oil painting for you afterwards.
Oil Painting
Me and oil painting go a long way back! It has always been close to my heart, painting subjects varying from landscapes and seascapes to portraits, so whatever your surroundings are, I can paint it with confidence. Have a look at my wedding oil painting offer 🙂 .

Wedding Illustrator
I have been working as a wedding illustrator (wedding sketcher / painter / live artist, whatever you would like to call it) since 2018 and I am more passionate about it than ever. Being a wedding illustrator allows me to use all my experience, passion and skill to capture memories for others, make people smile a help them “time travel” to these wonderful moments. Personally
In my free time I like to spend time with my family and DM for our small Dungeons & Dragons group. I have a small cat called Pixel, she is very sweet but not allowed in my studio as otherwise she drinks my paint water and her hair gets everywhere (she does keep trying)!
Why Did I Start to Sketch Weddings?
It all started as a fun idea, sketching my friend’s wedding in 2018. Sketching wasn’t new to me, I usually took a sketchbook with me anywhere I went anyway, so I thought it could be fun! It was such a success that I decided to develop this idea and offer this service to other couples. I have come a long way since then, developing the sketch album, improving my technique, having gained a lot of experience over the years.
Wedding sketching has all the ingredients I like, and I love the thought my sketches will bring happy memories to people years down the road. I can do any other occasions, like anniversaries, baby showers, birthdays, corporate events and so on.
I don’t mind at all when people come and look, and ask me questions, it’s all part of it.
I enjoy bringing any special event to life on paper as I sketch and people seem to enjoy watching me, so it’s a win/win!
