Terms & conditions

Before all the business stuff…

…let me say that I draw and paint for joy and I want my art to bring joy. It really matters to me that you are happy with your sketchbook and I do everything to maintain a good relationship with my clients. If you have any questions or you are unsure about anything to do with the sketching itself or how the process works, payment or shipping, please contact me. For me, sketching at your event is not just a matter of business, each drawing is done with love and care.

Service: Guest Portraits

The artist will attend the Client’s event at the agreed time and location for the duration stated in the Service Agreement. The Artist will make every effort to arrive in time to start the work. However, if the Artist is held up by sever traffic, weather conditions or any reason beyond her control, she will do the best to inform the Client about the situation and do everything she can to arrive at the venue as soon as possible.

The Artist will be drawing for the time agreed in the Service Agreement, taking reasonable short breaks if needed. Any refreshment provided by the client is appreciated, especially for a longer session.

The portraits will be made on a first come, first served basis. One portrait can take between 3 – 12 minutes per face, depending on the style. The Quentin Blake inspired portraits are the fastest and take 3 – 5 minutes pre face. More realistic portraits take around 10 – 12 minutes.
The Artist can’t guarantee a portrait of every guest if the length of time is not sufficient for the number of guests present. The Client should talk to the Artist beforehand to see what is realistic. The estimates are only approximate and will depend on the situation.

If any of the guests didn’t have a chance to get their portrait done on the day, they have an option to order an additional portrait for £12 per face from a photo they provide, plus postage if done on paper. There is no postage for digital portraits.

The Payment

The payment will be made as follows:

1. A booking fee of £50 (to secure the booking)

2. The final payment of £250 due 21 calendar days before the event

The Artist won’t be able to provide any service if the payment is not made in full before the wedding.
Payments can be made securely online by Stripe or in person by card.

Extended Time

It is possible for the Artist to extend the time on request, in which case a standard hourly rate of £100 will be charged and will need to be paid on the day. Payments can be made by card or in cash.

Likeness

The Artist will make every effort to achieve a good likeness for each individual portrait, however, the portraits done in the style of Quentin Blake are heavily stylised and simplified, therefore any likeness will be approximate.
